Welcome to the Trail Party
Trail running events to follow, must watch, and a summer of bingeable podcast episodes!
Hi There, Welcome to the first monthly Newsletter of She Trails Podcast.
I am excited to keep celebrating female trail runners, the outdoors and movement with this new format. A curation of things to watch, read, learn, along with some reflections. This will also be a space where I will communicate on all She Trails Podcast news. Please share this email far and wide to everyone that would enjoy reading and listening to the pod!
Thank you for being here <3
Kindest,
Julia
Following ..
It is all happening on the trail running scene in the next few weeks, here’s what I will be following:
UTMB - 26th of August - 1st of September. When on Instagram it seems like everyone is either heading to run and/or hang in Chamonix, I am sure a lot of people like me will also be following from afar (right?). I found the livestreams exciting last year and can’t wait to follow the different races all week. I will be cheering on everyone, and both Fiona Pascall and Marianne Hogan are racing too!
Tor des Geants - 6th to 15th of September. During season 1 of the podcast, we learnt more about this beautiful race in the episode with Emma Stuart, and this year I cannot wait to follow along while Sophie Bennett & Katharina Hartmuth taking on this challenge too.
Ultra Tour Monte Rosa - 4th to 7th of September, Tess Elias will be there, and I know some of you will be too! Good luck and have the absolute best time!
I am sure there are more things to follow at this time of year, please tell me what else?!

Watching
If you liked watching the Olympics this summer, the excitement is not over, time to tune in for the Paralympics from next Wednesday onwards.
Must watch too:
Rising Phoenix - absolutely loved this documentary about the Paralympic games history and athletes.
Penguin Bloom - seen this movie this week, which is a true story, incredible! Although if you are team sensitive like me, get the tissues ready.
Summer of podcast
It’s been so awesome to release the summer podcast season, with a new episode every Wednesday. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough time to talk about each episode and story enough though, so I will highlight some of them to give you ideas for your next listen!
Firsts up:
Sarah Perry’s journey of running and setting a new FKT on the South West Coastal Path (630 miles), unsupported! This is an opportunity to learn more about the experience, behind the scenes, and all about Sarah’s story.
For you if: you are looking for more female FKT’s and solo challenges stories!
Episode/run duration: 40 mins easy run to boost your day
Fran Stuart, her story and a focus on her preparation and experience of a stage race with two ultras in two days! We also speak about how to find that sweet spot between enjoying trails as a slow runner and still challenging ourselves.
For you if: you’re curious about how races with stages go, and need a self-love reminder to enjoy the trail running experiences whatever your speed!
Episode/run duration: a breezy long week-end run
